Clara Antiqua‘s look is influenced by the straight and clear appearance of typefaces like Didot and Bodoni, which creates a more stable and traditional first impression. Character tables of the font are the strong contrast between the thicker and thinner lines and the negative space in the disruption of the stem which makes for a lighter and more weightless aesthetic.

In our first semester at university, we were tasked to develop a capital typeface from start to finish.

The lowercase letters and additional characters like ligatures were added later on as a personal project to complete the Typeface. Clara Antiqua will most likely be updated with the feedback I get as well as the details I find with time as this is my first finished Typeface.​​​​​​​
