Rime Sparse – ig Poetry project (logo & identity)

Rime Sparse // Logo & Identiy
An Instagram project (link) to spread poetry, selecting artists
from different historical, geographical and cultural backgrounds.

LOGO
Name. It recalls the most famous verse of the poet Petrarca – You who listen to the sound in scattered rhymes – and alludes to the multiculturality of chosen authors.

Content. The name forms a circle, which recalls ig shapes and the "scattered" rhymes in the poems. The serif font and the ornamental flower in the center recall the ancient roots of poetry, which tell about nature and elegance.

Background. A crumpled monochrome sheet, to remember the printed books and the creative path of the author, who has to throw away many crumpled drafts before completing his work.

INTERFACE
Content. Each post includes a poem – or an excerpt, when specified – with the author's name and life period. At the bottom, the name of the possible translator.
As the caption of the post, the reference edition, the publisher and the year.

Style. The serif-font is homogeneous, the solid pastel colors in the background change from one post to another, to offer a chromatic mosaic from the overall view of the page.

Horizontal scrolling. The poems too long to be included in a single post have been divided into several images. The text is 90° overturned to guarantee uninterrupted reading in the horizontal scrolling.

HIGLIGHTS STORIES
Highlights stories. Each post is also published in the Higlights Stories, which can be consulted at any time, according to the author's nationality. I chose a different glyph from the letter A for each national alphabet.

FAN CONTRIBUTIONS
The followers can propose the poems they read and write, publishing in their posts the tag @rime.sparse and the hashtag #rimesparse.
