CENTIRE
CENTIRE is a personal device designed for the visually impaired (VI), aimed to promote an independent commuting experience for the VI users without the reliance on external audible cues.
With smart cities initiatives being implemented around the world where cashless payments, RFID technology and machines becomes the core of how society functions, the visually impaired are inevitable left behind as the rest of the world moves forward. With the expected rise in global blindness, the need to cater to the needs of the Visually Impaired is even more urgent.
As such, CENTIRE aims to provide VI users with information regarding daily commuting activities through tactile and audible feedback, enabling VI users to commute independently on buses and crossing of road junctions.
