The animated short film 'Bát Nàn' is part of TNA Entertainment's cinematic project called 'She-Kings', including one live-action feature film, and an animated series featuring 6 short films. 'Bát Nàn' is the first of that series.

The animated series introduces the 6 first heroines in Vietnamese history, who fought in the revolution against the Chinese invaders (Eastern Han dynasty) nearly 2000 years ago. In other words, this animated short film 'Bát Nàn' is the combination of history and art, and the representation of Vietnamese animation industry.

'Bat Nan' introduces the first female warrior of Vietnam, nearly 2000 years ago. Her name is Bat Nan tuong quan. She was forced to marry a Chinese governer, who ruled over her home country with brutality.

The Vietnamese blood has always had 'freedom' at the core of our lives. Having no freedom means having nothing at all. That desire for freedom has been illustrated throughout history when our ancestors risked their lives to stand up against the brutality of Northen invaders.

It is even more meaningful when nearly 2000 years ago, that desire was demonstrated by a heroine, named Bat Nan. Bat Nan was a female warrior who made significant contributions to the revolution against the Eastern Han dynasty, alongside the legendary Trung Sisters.

With unrivaled combatting skills and respectable strong will, Bat Nan was one of the first heroines in the history of Vietnam, who dared to fight for freedom.

We released the film on Facebook, YouTube and Vimeo on 22nd November, and have since received positive feedback, especially in the film's choreography animation, and art direction. The release was covered by Phunumoi.net. We were also shown support by the animators of Reddit.
