Abandoned North Korean School, Gifu Prefecture, Japan

Abandoned North Korean School in Gifu Prefecture, Japan.
The kudzu (Japanese arrowroot) is starting the engulf the school. It has already submerged another building.
The former school sits on top of hill in a town outside of Nagoya.
The foyer of Dono Joseon Elementary and Middle School.
I held my breath being able to find any North Korean propaganda because of twenty plus years of vandalism.
Kim Il-sung's and Kim Jong-il's heads have been severely desecrated. Mobeom (모범) means “examplary” or “model” .
Examples of Juche (주체) propaganda.
The most interesting thing on the board is the hangeul (traditional Korean script) that still lingers on the board.
Here's the building I couldn't get into. Lost in the sea of kudzu.
Dono Joseon Elementary and Middle School (도노조선초중급학교) has sat abandoned since 1998. I came hoping to find evidence that this was once a North Korean state sponsored school. I wrote more about this school and ethnic Koreans living in Japan in the July 2018 issue of Gwangju News. http://gwangjunewsgic.com/travel/from-abroad/juche-in-japan/
