Career of Former Royals Manager Ned Yost

Scott Sjoberg is a Kansas-based business professional who, in addition to serving as partner at a pair of golf companies, is the owner and operator of the home care and assistance agency Right at Home. When he isn't working, Scott Sjoberg enjoys following his favorite Major League Baseball (MLB) team, the Kansas City Royals.

Longtime Royals manager Ned Yost announced his retirement following the completion of the 2019 campaign. The 65-year-old took over the managerial role from Trey Hillman in May 2010 and, although the Royals lost 95 games that year, Yost oversaw gradual improvements in its win-loss record over the next five seasons. In 2014, Yost guided the team to its first playoff appearance since 1985 and, in the following season, the Royals posted a record of 95-67. The team won its first World Series in three decades that same year.

Kansas City won just 58 and 59 games, respectively, in 2018 and 2019. Yost concluded his 10-year Royals career with a record of 746-839 in the regular season, but had a 22-9 record in the playoffs and led the team to two World Series appearances. Including his six seasons as manager of the Milwaukee Brewers, he has a career regular season record of 1,203-1,341.
