PAPER DINOSAUR DOLL

For this quick project, we were assigned to create a paper doll! I remember making my own paper dolls by hand as a child and as I go back to that mindset, I have better tools to work with now! I am so glad we weren’t limited to a physical person for this project.
I immediately knew what I wanted to do… A Stegosaurus! It, for some reason, popped into my brain to create a paper “doll” where you can change the hard plates of the dinosaur with something prettier. I immediately did my research of stegosaurus and roughly sketched the body, later touching it up. I wanted my flowers to be exotic and fun, the crystals to be tall and intimidating and I wanted there to be hats.
After refining the sketches of the stegosaurus, I drew individual crystals and flowers. After I was satisfied with the amount and quality of everything, I then rearranged, layered and grouped the different themes. There was a ton of overlapping lines that I had to expand the appearance of and physically erase every line. Though time consuming, it really made everything look clean and professional.
I think with this project, I learned how much erasing parts of lines to make them less perfect, makes the entire project look 100 percent better. Sometimes, taking that extra time to do that extra step can change everything. I plan on printing out multiple copies of this doll, I am so proud of how it turned out.
