Farewell
Painting done in a site specific manner // in a park // central part of Kaunas city, where the old cemetery lies beneath the ground. A tribute to the rich history park and on one of the stories where it is said // in 1956 year, soviet government started to dig out some of the old cemetery to move it to other place in the city. During this mass digging, a family has found their long dead daughter grave. When they opened the coffin, they found a beautiful girl with long hair still in very good condition. But just as one of the family member tried to brush her hair, she suddenly turned to dust.
The painting reveals a forgotten layer of history on it's walls. All the inner graphics is taken from an artist's Dalia Stalauskienė papercut and shows various moment of the tree of life.
