Bloomer's Mural

Bloomer’s is a delightful vegan bakery with several locations across the GTA. After opening their location on Queen West in Toronto, they were looking for a mural artist to bring some colour and life to their new private outdoor back patio.

I sent in my proposal along with some style references. After hearing back from the lovely owners, I then sent them a sketch. Our visions were aligned and lucky me, I was chosen for the job :)

I illustrated a scene incorporating plants, animals and the donuts Bloomer’s is known for. The scene is an aspirational vegan paradise, with hints of the local landscape. The greenery is a mix of tropical and Canadian foliage, along with some baby farm animals and forest friends.

The donuts emulate Bloomer’s actual donut flavours. The two biggest donuts exhibit their top selling flavours: Rose Pistachio and Birthday Cake. I replicated their original store sign/logo, shown here hanging on the tree and I incorporated stalks of wheat near the donuts to tie back to the Bloomer’s logo.

I’ve been wanting to paint a mural for a while and this was the perfect opportunity. I already knew and loved Bloomer’s, which made it extra special. Go get yourself some delicious vegan donuts and check it out!
