avá - flexible packaging in body care

Only eight percent of personal care product packagings are made from flexible plastic. But why? Exchanging existing rigid packagings with a flexible solution will decrease transportation costs, due to material saving and enable a more energy efficient production of the packaging. Pairing the flexible packaging with a reusable rigid container, will provide stability and convenient handling.
The solution consists of two parts: a rigid casing and a flexible packaging. When the flexible part is put into the rigid part, a thorn pierces through the material. Through a dispenser, connected to the thorn the product inside the flexible part can be released at the push of a button. Currently, flexible packaging is usually filled into other containers before use, which deprives brands of the opportunity to position themselves in customers‘ bathrooms. The combination of the two ensures that the advertising opportunity is prominent for as long as the product‘s shelf life.
