The American Advertising Federation (AAF) has its headquarters in Washington, D.C., and there are more than 200 local clubs across the United States. Its mission is to promote advertising by creating a grassroots network of agencies, media companies, and advertisers alongside the local and college chapters. In addition to the ADMERICA National Conference and AdCamps, a summer program for high school students, the AAF also hosts the American Advertising Awards each year.

The American Advertising Awards is the largest competition in the advertising industry, with more than 40,000 entries each year in local competitions. Winners have to progress through three tiers of competition in order to win an award. Student categories are also available, designed for full or part-time enrolled college students across the country.

The 2019 winners of the American Advertising Awards Best in Show honors were given to We Are Unlimited from Chicago, Illinois, for McDonald’s – The Flip, Chloe Glenn from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, for The Case for Her (Period), and Bently Rawle from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, for Reebok – Miguel.
