Developing a new brand identity

Most probiotics brands communicate the same messages so to break through the sea of sameness, we helped Bio-K+ refocus on what made them different – an incredible, detail-oriented process, strong company values, and a highly-efficient liquid probiotic whose formula and packaging had not changed in over 20 years. The new brand strategy better positioned Bio-K+ to lead a movement for better microbiome health - and served as the inspiration for a brand makeover.

BBR did not change the logo or Bio-K+’s iconic colours but we did enhance their visual assets – and create new ones - to make them bolder, stronger and cohesive with the new strategy. To highlight the hardworking, detail-obsessed scientists behind the product, we developed a new signature, “Culture Crafters” and we treated all existing assets with the same attention-to-detail that characterized the brand and its products. We expanded their graphic toolbox by creating a new pattern inspired by their 3 probiotic bacterial strains. We also traced the original liquid probiotic bottle and transformed it into a symbol for the brand’s dedication to efficacy and consistency.

The new brand is purpose driven and empathetic, while also staying true to its scientific roots but in a more approachable and consumer facing way. Now Bio-K+ has a strong, consistent tone of voice and streamlined brand guidelines, ensuring it stays firmly in its position as a probiotics pioneer.
