Centennial Churches is a work in progress celebrating the Living Legacy of the 100+ year old churches of the Baltimore–Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Robert Strawbridge founded the first class of Methodism in Maryland and in America in 1760 at his log cabin near New Windsor, Maryland. Baltimore was the birthplace of organized Methodism in America. The first official organization in the United States occurred in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1784 with the formation of the Methodist Episcopal Church at the Christmas Conference with Francis Asbury and Thomas Coke as the leaders. The conference was held at the Lovely Lane Methodist Church, considered the Mother Church of American Methodism.

Churches are listed in chronological order by the earliest construction date of the current church. Some churches were founded earlier but had sanctuaries built subsequent to their original meeting place. Churches are listed by their original names and identified individually as United Methodist Churches where the church name has changed.
