Appa's Magic Touch is a book I made for the final project of a course on 'Writing and Art in Books for Young Children'. The book is centred around a girl who is in awe of her father's way with animals, and follows her journey trying to channel his magic touch. This story is, I must confess, largely rooted in my own personal experiences.

The project started with a few rough sketches, followed by a storyboard/draft layout (to see which illustrations and text would come on each page) and a full-scale draft of a few spreads.
The final artwork was done with watercolours and coloured pencils on watercolour paper, and then scanned. Text, speech bubbles and other additional details were added digitally.
Before printing a black-and-white mock book was made to see if any final changes were required, and to serve as a reference for the printer.
