Dangle, the world's first minimalist credit card case for a new titanium Apple Card. A card case redefined as a versatile lifestyle accessory and a lifehacker. Regular card cases available in the market are just variations of a wallet that is stored in a bag or pocket, and the credit card needs to be taken out of the bag and then out of the wallet for transactions. With Dangle, you no longer need to dig through your bag and then struggle to get the card out of the wallet. Dangle is worn around neck, wrist, or waist or clipped onto a bag. All you have to do is flip the cover and touch the machine. Dangle is a verb that means an object is hang or swing loosely that perfectly translate our product and our brand. Dangle provides a subtle but innovative lifestyle experience while functioning as an accessory statement.
Dangle is thin, slim and convenient for you to wear and carry it however you prefer. Dangle’s soft and elastic silicone encapsulates your beautiful titanium Apple Card from scratching, getting dirty, and chipping out. The connector on the top left side, made with more solid material joined with soft silicone, adds structural element to stabilize the case while preventing potential damage when connected with a ring or a necklace. Dangle offers different color options for the connector as an accent to the design and provides individualistic style element.
In the very beginning, our team brainstormed to improve an existing card case with more functions to protect the Apple Card containing sensitive Titanium. Unlike other credit cards, Apple Card only has user name engraved on the card without any information typically written on a credit card. We assumed such minimalistic design was possible because the society is becoming cashless with more virtual transactions on digital platforms. A credit card is more of a symbolic medium of a lifestyle than a physical object with values. Therefore, our team agreed that a wallet no longer has the same meaning or value to users. After careful trend and culture research, our team came up with a bold idea of a credit card case as a wearable accessory.
Our design goals contained threefolds; subtle design that improves your daily life and reflects the change in society, material that is easy to manufacture and manipulate, and a wearable product that can be customized and fashionable.
Intuitive Design and Form Factor
Dangle’s intuitive design is inspired by our own experience and created based on our ergonomics research and observing user interactions with credit card and payment machine. We strongly believed convenience and ease of use is achieved by simplicity in form factor that ultimately gives greater moment of pleasure for users. Minimalist aesthetics of Dangle translates to functions that are self-explanatory. Users are attracted by soft and elastic texture and naturally and gently flip the case whenever they swipe or insert Apple Card into credit card machine and intuitively understands to flex back slip.
Material: Silicone
Dangle’s minimal but multi-functional design was achieved by high-performance material silicone. Silicone offers the right amount of elasticity, and its stable material lasts long while retaining its color. In addition, its durability withstands extreme temperature and is resistant to heat and moisture. Silicone has smooth and non-stick surface that is easy to clean and dismisses odor or grease. It is safe to human and widely used such as in medical or kitchen appliances. Therefore, it is a perfect material to cover your titanium Apple Card preventing scratches, dirt, and damage. Dangle intentionally uses translucent silicone to highlight form and colors of Apple Card.

Designing Dangle as a wearable was one of our key ideas. You can essentially wear it on your body like a fashion accessory or play with it as a ring, band, necklace or whatever you like to mix and match and let it “dangle” so that your hands are free. You can hang AirPod, car keys, house keys, and Dangle to complete your fashion style head to toe.
