A full deck of playing cards was designed using only typographic elements from a single typeface, Gill Sans. The cards we printed with a linen finish to aid shuffling and card play. The design and use of the Gill Sans typeface was researched, and found to be an extremely legible and geometric typeface that incorporates humanists touches (such as the slight taper to letter terminals).

The design for the deck of cards highlights the geometric and linear quality of the letter forms that make up Gill Sans. The visual elements communicate a modern look alongside a playfulness which is appropriate for a deck of cards. The use of a bright and saturated color scheme adds to the lively design and further emphasizes the sportive nature of cards. The cards also have a clear hierarchy so as to be able to easily recognize by using size, placement, color, and location.
