About the Costa Rica Summer Service Adventures Program
Based in Boston, Massachusetts, Matthew (Matt) Kafker graduated from Middlesex High School with high honors. Active in both academics and extracurricular activities, Matt Kafker has participated in a community service and language immersion trip to Costa Rica, a program organized by Global Works.
Over the past 28 years, Global Works has been at the forefront of facilitating international trips that offer students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in different cultures while engaging in community service programs. Throughout the Costa Rica Summer Service Adventures program, students get the chance to hone their Spanish language skills and learn local traditions and culture during their stay.
One of the activities on the trip is visiting a wildlife research and sea turtle conservation site, where students learn about the species in the area. For another week, students explore the rainforests. They can also join a kayak tour or an overnight rafting trip that goes through Tortuguero National Park.
