As the second story in the series, the illustrations for 'Horace and the Stowaway' had to harmonise with the images by Nicola Stanton from 'Septimus Smythe and the Spectre Detectors', (2008). Subsequently any recurring characters were represented in the same way, and the over-all style remained recogniseable and consistent.
