The goal of this project was to create a ticket box in the form of a locker. With that in mind, I set off to create a custom box that would represent parts of Mercedes-Benz Stadium (home of the Falcons), and embody the journey of a player on gameday; the journey to the stadium, through the stadium, and the arrival at the locker room where your jersey awaits.
After landing on final sketches, I creating a 3D model to show how it could work. This was crucial to help sell the concept, as it allowed for real-time viewing (and editing) of the box from every angle, how the slip cover and hole would work, as well as showing how all the elements could come together.
THE COVER :: THE ROOF
The cover was inspired by the roof of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons. A section of the roof known as the Oculus, opens up like the aperture of a camera. I wanted to bring this iconic design to the box by crafting it on the cover in its opened position, revealing the field below.
THE BOX :: THE STADIUM
While the cover is the embodiment of the roof, the box represents the stadium. With the cover on, the bottom angle reveals a panel of the red stadium...a nod to how the stadium illuminates red, and many other colors, at night in downtown Atlanta.
INSIDE :: The Locker
The interior represents the locker room. Before entering the locker room, Head Coach Dan Quinn greets you with a signed letter on the locker room door. Opening the door panel, you arrive at your locker where you'll find a personalized ticket card/s (your jersey), and a name plate. The bin below holds the lanyard/s for your ticket card/s, while the inside door panel holds a season schedule (magnet), a car decal and "Falcon's vs. All Y'all" sticker. You are now ready for gameday!
