Forecast-based Financing is an innovative mechanism whereby early actions at community and government level are pre-planned based on credible forecasts, and are funded and implemented before a climate shock. These actions minimize losses and damages caused by climate hazards, and reduce the need for humanitarian assistance in their aftermath.
I took the original idea from https://www.fablabvenezia.org/a-datasculpture-on-flood-risk/ and redesigned the object so that it could become a small trophy or small enough sculpture that could be transported to events.
Each piece of acrylic has a laser engraving on the bottom, so that the wave of the previous year can be seen behind with greater approach to the flood peak.
