A Building Information Model (BIM) is a digital Representation of physical & Informational characteristics of a facility. As such it serves as a shared centralized knowledge resource for information forming a reliable basis for decisions during the life cycle of the product from land assembly & project finance through programming, design, and construction, to asset management & maintenance.
The character (I) standing for the term "Information" distinguishes between a BIM model and any traditional Building Model that we used to create in the past using Microstation, Autocad, 3Dsmax, etc...
The Below images are renderes from BIM models without taking any advantage of the "Information" term which does not make any difference apart from the Traditional 3D models.
Don't Over Judge BIM. 3D renders are not the real value. If you are looking after that, then stay with the 3D modelling Applications & save the headache of the "I".
