The Red Tape Project

The Red Tape Project was created as a letter set that draws from the practice of using duct tape to create letters on protest signs. What began as an emotive character set grew to have the potential to mean something more. The visual element of the serrated tape could become a starting point and symbol for something larger -- the fight for women’s rights.

The red tape is a visual element that can be appropriated in many ways due to it's recognisability and simplicity - in terms of both form and access.
