Ending note: This design experience was a very unique experience for me. It asked me to come out of my comfort zone and empathize and design for life and situation which was very different from mine. Although The final design was still in it's imperfection but the enthusiasm shared by the family on seeing the design and their subtle smile in accepting it was very rewarding.It also taught me need of our country for simple-utilitarian design in Rural-Indian context.
The frugal fabric of our rural spaces have adopted a frugal way of approaching for problems,In it I too had to come up with spontaneous improvisations both while making the concepts, prototyping the solutions and gathering the feedback. This made the whole experience very humbling and if not anything it made me more sensitive towards needs of our rural society and also to honor their hard work and joy in simple living.
