The pan-European initiative, Euraxess, needed a report designed for their Annual Meeting of the European Scientific Diasporas in North America. This annual event focuses on fostering innovation between European researchers and scientific networks through mentor/mentee relationships.
As the designer for this project, I came up with language that directed the visuals, creativity represented the theme, and tied it back to the scientific community. The client mentioned “New Beginnings” as a key theme, which eventually led me to the phrase “Ignite the Passion.” Ignite was chosen as the name of the report, as it is related to fire. Fire is energetic and contagious, moves and spreads just as the formation of new ideas spread towards something larger. To visualize excitement surrounding New Beginnings, I use shapes to show movement, also serving as loosely depicted flames. The colors are related to heat temperature (red, yellow and blues). Highlights and markings indicate that the report is "a work in progress" – showing that research within the scientific community is ever-evolving. All details were inspired by the scientific research process and carefully thought out; that made the result extremely relatable.
