Blended Bond
Recently, we took the children to get their flu shot and our daughter, Ashlynn was scared after seeing her brother get his first.  Once it was her turn, Anthony got up to hold her hand and told her “don’t worry I’m here”. Instantly, my heart warmed as I watched how gentle and reassuring he was to her the entire time. Of course, I snipped a few shots without them noticing as I wanted to remember this special moment in their relationship.

This unforeseen bond between our children came as a surprise to us. Within a short period of time, our children had grown so close and began treating each other like brother and sister before my husband and I got married. Blended families are difficult and come with many challenges but our kids loving each other wasn’t one of them. Now, don’t get me wrong they aren’t always nice to each other just like any other siblings. I believe it helps that they are only one year apart and they don’t have to share their belongings.
We may be a blended family but a truly blessed one for sure!
