Brand Guidelines
for ENSECO® redesign
Up until 2019, ENSECO® has not owned a single consistent visual identity. The logotype was often applied without the minimal protection zone; the corporate printed matter was variable; the website has not been married to good copywriting and graphics. The company solves this problem historically for the first time. Our design manual is designed to kick-start building of the visual identity of ENSECO®, which will be unified,  consistent, and have clear rules.
What the redesigned logotype brings?
– 1 – Added clarity to the introductory letter E. The use of timeless, stencil Helvetica Extra Bold font ensures strong continuity of the entire logotype;  – 2 – Correcting the optical distance between letters makes the text flow smoother. – 3 – We maintained the width and visual proportions of the logotype. The three company, specialisations Engineering - Services - Consulting, will be more prominent after this change. – 4 – We removed elements that were not necessary for the logotype. – 5 – We modified the last two letters, which also includes the creation of ligatures - a combination of characters - between the letters “EN” and “CO”. The logotype thus should be easily remembered, and more prominent.
Typography was the compromise between what we wanted and what was possible.
We selected fonts not only for use on the web or in commercial print but also for everyday office communication documents. This means the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and K2 business software, which all have a tiny font selection. We decided to go with the Calibri font, due to its light version, which is included in all of the programs mentioned. It's a compromise.
How to get pictures for the project who’s stakeholder cannot, because of the security reasons, produce photographs of their work?
The nuclear industry area is sensitive know-how. Photos from inside of the installations can not be disclosed. Therefore, most references cannot be captured by authentic imagery. We opted instead to stock photos. We could avoid photos of nuclear reactors because the company goes beyond this area and also engages in engineering.
Logotype application
Quite the significant visible part of the clients’ work is office materials – produced daily. Thus, we created an extensive set of templates for Microsoft Office Word.
The company websites' went through thorough, extensive copywriting and graphics redesign.
Thank you.
