Characters from a sci-fi comic I'm working on called Axis Mundi.
The two characters on the leftmost side are the main protagonists, Sly (the kid) and Rodney (the man).
These are character designs and color/shade flats for a 48-page comic. I'm working with a single arc within a larger story, with the two characters on the left being the main protagonists of the overarching story, and the four to the right being arc-specific.
Story synopsis:
It is twenty years after the world has ended, and Earth is a seemingly desolate wasteland ravaged by the mutational effects of radiation, caused by the foolish nuclear warring of the world’s superpowers. However, rumors of an idyllic promised land, the Axis Mundi, have spread amongst what little population is left, but no one has embarked on the journey to find this mysterious place and lived to tell the tale.
Axis Mundi is the story of Sly, a recklessly brave teenager born in the post-war world, determined to find salvation for not only himself, but the rest of humanity as well. Unfortunately, his success lies within the search for an elusive promised land that might not exist at all.
