Self Initiated Brief - My final major project is about JUST EAT launching a new Moroccan food, serving people who have never tasted Moroccan food before. Making the experience as though they are actually in Morocco, it is also for people who have tasted Moroccan food before and are big fans of Moroccan food. It’s about wanting people to see between western and Moroccan culture, to help them to realise how important and tasty Moroccan food is.
Promoting and advertising is very important because if done correctly will attract people to order Moroccan foods via Just Eat. Social networks can be used like Instagram and twitter, my idea was to use hashtags in the packaging by the customer uploading photos of themselves to win a free meal, also creating free advertising. It helped me to learn how to attract the publics attention.
The design of my final major project was bold yet simple linked to Islamic art and linked to my influence from Marian Bantjes and Moroccan patterns. The colours used are bright yellow, rich vibrant dark blue and light grey to make my design powerful and impassive.
It helped me to understand the language of my style between Moroccan patterns and Islamic pattern with a modern twist creating my own style, putting all that together makes it powerful enough to catch people’s eyes when they walk past, especially if its being promoted in the London tube stations after a long day at work.
