TRICHY: People on Tuesday morning bid an emotional farewell to two-and-a half-year B Sujith Wilson who died
after being stuck in an abandoned borewell near his home at Nadukattupatti in Trichy district of Tamil Nadu.
The body of the boy who fell into the borewell on Friday evening was retrieved around 4am after the rescue

The body of the boy, who fell into the borewell on Friday evening, was retrieved around 4am after the rescue
operation that lasted more than 80 hours went in vain. The rescue operation saw efforts to drill a 100-foot-deep
hole near the borewell using rig machines. The efforts to drill the hole were hampered by the presence of a hard
rock around two feet from surface.
The rescue operation was called off around the midnight after a foul smell started emanating from the borewell.
Around 2.30am, secretary of revenue administration, disaster management and mitigation J Radhakrishnan, who
was supervising the rescue operations, declared Sujith dead. (TOI)
