During the summer of 2019, I singularly took on a large-scale refresh of the Pittsburgh Penguins brand. This refresh included refreshing the custom "Penguins" logo typeface.
The "original" font was created with inconsistencies in character weight, highlight placement, inconsistent traits, and overall size. This font refresh corrects all of the previous issues while expanding on the existing character count to provide even more options to the design team.
The revised font has been named Badger in honor of 'Badger' Bob Johnson, the first Stanley Cup winning coach in Pittsburgh Penguins franchise history.
