For a class assignment, we were asked to pick a font and make a sort of specimen for it, then, we had to take that font and find a way to animate it. I chose the font Gotham which is being called by many as the font of the 21st century. A font which can be seen everywhere in New York, it was firstly created for GQ magazine. The brief being that the font had to be fresh, new and masculine.
I took this font and wanted to showcase it but also satirise it by putting it next to a quote by the famous batman villain, King of Gotham city, the Joker.
Then I created an animation from this specimen, using its elements to Black Skinhead by Kanye West, its frenetic beats allowing me to animate the energetic, fresh font.
