This assignment required us to design a radio to demonstrate industrial art skills learnt in the module. Points were available for the novelty of the design so I chose to combine a toaster and radio.
When the toast handle is pressed, the radio turns on and remains on for 5 minutes after the toast has popped up. The user can then listen to the radio while they eat their breakfast, where they might otherwise be in too much of a rush to put a seperate radio on.
The body is frosted grey glass and is supported by stainless steel legs with rubberised dials and handle. A display is projected on the back of the glass so that the view of the toast is not impeded by electronics.
