Everest Base Camp Trekking
1. Day
I came to Lukla by this plane. There are two ways to reach here. This is the fastest way. Other is 5 days of walking and driving.
Very nervous flight.
I started walking on the same day. My backpack is 16kg and it’s hard to walk with that.
2. Day
During my trip, I saw many kids playing games and happy to see different faces. But to be honest I was much more happier to meet them.
Only way to the Everest Base Camp is to walk. That’s why local people use the animals such as donkeys, yaks, horses to carry their needs. On this photo, donkeys are carrying the gas for the kitchens.
I walked by the river to reach Namche Bazar (elevation 3400m) and the view was always beatiful.
3. Day
In order to adapt the high altitude, this was the acclimatization day. I trekked to 4040 meters and back to Namche Bazar.
I watched the view for an hour.
I trekked to Hillary memorial. This memorials were built for Sir Edmund Hillary and sherpa Tenzing who climbed Mt. Everest first time. They made me believe that nothing is impossible.
4. Day
I met Nawang Karsang Sherpa who climbed Mt. Everest in 2003. He gave me advices for my journey.
Rain started during my trekking, but nothing could stop me and I reached to Tyangboche.
5. Day
Early in the morning, I visited Tyangboche Temple and watched the pray.
...Then started to walk Dingboche.
Because of the altitude, I started not to see any trees.
6. Day
Again It was the acclimatization day. I trekked to top of Nangkartshang (5073m) and turned back to Dingboche.
The view was beatiful on the top.
7. Day
It started snowing on the way to Lobuche.
The weather was really cold. But the view was always beatiful.
8. Day
After two hours of walking, I reached to Gorak Shep. I had my lunch and rested until 2.00pm. When I felt ready to walk, I started walking and arrived to the top of Kala Patthar.
In sunset the sunlight can only reach to Changtse (7543m), Mt. Everest (8848 m), Nuptse (7745 m).
Fog covered Gorak Shep in sunset.
9. Day
I made it to the last stop, i.e. Everest Base Camp!
