BRIEF:
Ustwo games needed a new logo animation for their upcoming indie game which encouraged players to take a nostalgic look at old cool retro items and rediscover the value of broken things.
It involved puzzles, story, calm music and relaxing games but with beautifully stylised design and artwork designed by the talented team working at Ustwo.
Though they had lush set of pastel colours throughout the game, the brief morphed to use a black text logo alone to show the tone and nature of the game in under five seconds.
No problem, I said.

PROCESS:
Treatment 1 was designed with the games' title and ethos in mind. The text literally assembles from mechanical like pieces and slot into place. Each letter was systemically split up, and added bolt holes to sell the illusion.
Treatment 2 combined brand colours and a modern animated text style, but was ultimately not used.
