With this series of ink paintings, I wanted to immortalize my memories of summer until age 13. Though a photo album is a literal, exact, and "true" record of the past, memory itself is a different story. To reflect the obscurity of memory, these images focus on atmosphere rather than accuracy. They do not tell a complete story, but jump from one moment to the next, focusing on small visual cues and ignoring chronology, in a way similar to the way one might remember a period of time.
I made over eighty small ink paintings; a selection of twenty-four pieces is shown here.
