Backyard is a group project that aims to gives new energy to an area in Melbourne called Docklands.This projects was done by myself, Aldry Kadarachman, Jonathan Concannon and Gin Hodgkinson. 

We started the project by wandering around the area and found a quiet residential area that is hidden in between the concrete jungle. We hope to bring new revitalising energy to the surrounding space and makes it feel more welcoming to the community.

Based on the research that we conducted, the docklands area is predominantly corporate(9 - 5 population).  Large amount of young residents aged between 20 -30 years old. 

The issue that the area is having is that there’s a disconnection between the population of Docklands and what the area facilitates. The area are mostly corporate buildings with apartments hidden in between. Although there are residents living there, the atmosphere felt cold and not welcoming.
