The Gamedesign project: Learning from the classics was about redesigning a classic video game. We (Team partner ♥ Daniel Scharmach) decided to modify the 2D arcade game Q*bert from 1982. The game has puzzle elements that use isometric graphics to create a pseudo 3D effect. The goal of the game is to change the color of each cube in a pyramid by jumping on the cube with Q*bert and avoiding obstacles and enemies.

Our idea for Qolor Clash was to turn the single player into a multiplayer. Q*bert is now competing against Coily the snake. The player who has colored most of the fields in his own color before time runs out wins the game. We created the game with GameMaker. I illustrated the pixel graphics of the game with GameMaker: Studio and Daniel took care of the technical implementation. This was our first self-made computer game and I am very happy with the result.
