This project was a quick turnaround design project to come up with ideas for a video for Wordpress. Working with the creative directors at Curator Pictures, I was tasked with exploring and developing a 3D direction to highlight three main features of Wordpress websites - theme options, SEO, and E-Commerce. Below, all of my frames are laid out in the sequence that I imagined them animating in. The core concept around this progression is the various building blocks animating on around the initial Wordpress logo. As they extrude and build on, pieces begin to change color to draw specific attention to the different sections - blue for SEO, green for E-Commerce, and multi-colored for Themes. Ultimately, we would return back to the initial lockup to see all of the different pieces and colors fully evolved around the logo, showing how all of the pieces of Wordpress's websites come together to form a varied, complex system all in an accessible space.

E-Commerce

This section was designed around the visual of moving products to the end consumer. The main focus is the center cube, representing the online store, that is shipping products out to different places in the scene. I thought this was a great visual because it shows products big and small leaving a central location and being delivered to different areas throughout the environment.

SEO

This section is focused on showing how Wordpress can help you elevate your online presence and visibility above those of your peers. To show this, I wanted to create a section of similar websites - represented by cylinders here - all grouped together. Some are wide, some narrow, showing different bases and reaches of the websites. However, our center pillar that is managed by Wordpress shows how the focus and attention to SEO can help elevate your website above the others to be more visible to the end user. What started out as a website at the same level as the others quickly grows to outpace and outshine those around it.

Themes

The final section to highlight was the versatility of themes that is available to Wordpress users. To show this, I wanted to have a central website - illustrated as a central podium - that different themes could lay on top of. Different arrangements and colors of blocks move like on an assembly line as they would take turns settling on top of the website to preview a new visual option. This cycle would serve to show both the simplicity of changing themes on your Wordpress site alongside the amount of options and layouts available to the end users.

In the ending resolve, we would back out to the wider scene that we started on to find that the entire space around the logo has been built up with varying shapes. As we have progressed through this video, we see individual sections with unique shapes building on, and in the final shot, we see all of the shapes together forming the whole Wordpress experience. Colorful and busy, we have a moment to take in the complexity of the scene before the color drains out of the shapes and funnels into the center logo. Leaving us with a complex world around the Wordpress logo that is one simple color on the surface.
