Makin’ beer look good since ‘76
Tiger Joe is an icon in the Reyes Beer Division. 1976 is the year we came into existence and so I had the opportunity to create a design for the interior of our Santa Fe Springs location. The challenge was it had to be have a traditional look and be printed over 20 feet to be hung on the walls. These were just temporary signage while the building was being remodeled.
I used Kyle’s gouache brushes to create the beer and the plane in photoshop at 100% scale to ensure the best printed quality. This was at about 72 inches wide at 300dpi which redlined my computer and was assembled in several files. The type was brought into the illustration from a sketch using adobe capture and masked onto the file in illustrator.
On top of the assets for the walls, this badge was used on Travis Mathew polo shirts and jackets for our leadership, as well as grizzly insulated water bottles.
