TREES AND TALES
After 6 weeks of intensive work, we created an exhibit on a tree which we like or which we had some memory associated with. The brief was to create an exhibit which informs people about the tree, its cultural and economical significance, in India and around the world. It was supposed to inspire people to be more sensitive to trees and their value for us.
I chose BER(Indian Jujube) tree, because a lot of time i have spent around that in my childhood. I created a restaurant based on the theme of the BER tree. The overall theme was of a restaurant in which every small element is based on some physical feature of the BER tree like it's flower, thorns, colours of fruit, ecological and historical significance.
DETAILS
A lot of minute details were added to create a fulfilling experience of the BER tree.
LIGHTS
The lamps were made with thorny shape which resembles the branch of the tree with sharp thorns. Just like the fruit, which is very tasty but is surrounded by thorns, the lights look very pretty like the fruit but is surrounded by sharp thorns.
MENU COLLATERAL
A collateral which also acts as a menu card was designed to provide handy information in detail about primarily about the name of the BER tree in around India and around the world, also in different languages. The fold-able collateral also had information about the other aspects like the ecology , economy, variations by type, medical use, and it's spread around the world.
CHAIRS
The chairs were modified, to create a cushion texture in the seat, depicting various shades of the fruit.
INFO-GRAPHIC PANEL
A 6'*3' info graphic panel was made hand-painted to inform about all the aspects of the tree.
