Day 55: Oscillation Nation

One of the delightful things about a collaboration in this space is that is the ocean of possibilities and sheer magic that can come as a result of partnering up with someone. Today, I decided to do a Tilt Brush remix of one of my Co[Labs] partners, Brooke Einbender's radiant shrine called  Oscillate Between Opposites. As I was streaming my process, it wasn't just the shrine that impressed me, but the scope and sweep of the entrance. Something about it screamed dragon. And so that's what I went with, which you can watch in this stream.

Brooke didn't realize I was going to do a remix, which is half the fun really. And perhaps why I always like banging that drum regarding co-creation. It's a grand game of Exquisite Corpse but also the best way to gain insights into another artist's mindset and thought processes. You start to ask questions about color palettes/sensibilities, why certain elements are juxtaposed or located where they are, and most importantly, how you can complement or contribute to a piece without ruining its initial flow. It's a real privilege to be on either end of that equation.

This makes me want to find more ways to do this with other enthused creatives. I think we shouldn't be limited to what kind of creative that person is.
