Kyle Cooper thank-you card

At Boston University, we had a lecture with visiting artist Kyle Cooper of Prologue. He came to our graphic design studio and critiqued our various motion graphics projects for our titles sequences paired with our A0 movie posters. My piece was selected. In my particular critique, I was told to not just illustrate blood (in this case, for my American Psycho opening credits), and instead to do the real thing with ink or paint.

At the end of the week, I decided to create the thank-you card that the other students and I would sign, but to "do it for real."

Luckily or not, a couple of days later, at my design job at school, I cut myself accidentally with my blade while cropping a project. After panicking, I remembered Kyle's advice, and instead took it upon myself to record this blood, as I didn't know when else (if ever) I'd have the opportunity to be this remarkably authentic.

Let's just say I didn't imagine I'd take his advice so seriously that I'd do the whole thing by hand.
