scatter cushion with update-able 'petals'

A primary goal throughout my MA Design was to consider current environmental concerns of sustainability. The first part of the year, I focused on creating a soft furnishing that could be updated with changeable 'panels' to encourage less wastage. The final design idea (although not prototyped) was for a scatter cushion created from fabrics such as cotton, bamboo or hemp that would be healthier for the environment as well as eliminating microplastics when washing. This cushion was designed as a flower with interchangeable 'petals' that could be replaced with interior design preferences reducing the need to discard of the item and instead allowing for an update-able feature.
