This products that combines the Sake Server of Akita's traditional craft "Odate Magewappa Bent Woodworks" with a lid with the painting of Kyoto's traditional craft "Kyoto Ware / Kiyomizu Ware".
"Magewappa" is a woodwork product with beautiful flowing grain of Akita cedar. Magewappa Sake Server is attractive as a function, but it is simple and less decorative because it is made of almost a single material. I intended to combine it with other highly decorative traditional crafts.
"Kyoto Ware / Kiyomizu Ware" ware is characterized by its specialty and diversity, and is created by combining the technologies of each workshop. It was taken in without any discomfort that it spread to other crafts made in far area.
"Magewappa" is simple and has a strong locality, or in other words, it has a country-like style. Even if it is called a traditional craft, there is a big difference in the background between "Magewappa" and "Kyoto Ware / Kiyomizu Ware". It is "urban culture" that enjoy in combination, but as information and distribution become smoother, the distance between rural areas and cities may be shortened more. There is a charm created by incorporating sophisticated cultural characteristics into locality. I feel that I can expect a little more to give that idea to "traditional crafts".
