About
India Heritage Walks an initiative of Sahapedia, is an award-winning heritage experiences platform with experiences modelled around different degrees and depths of interaction. Their types of events are: Heritage Experiences, Baithaks (talks), Anubhuti, and Workshops.
The pitch that the visual language is necessitated to make had to respond to changing visibility and expanding projects and verticals. To communicate the richness of concept that will compliment a vast corpus of crowdsourced photos, it was decided to shift the emphasis to illustrated elements.
Why Illustrations?
An early set of illustrations informed the decision to move into the space. An element-based model of composition allowed for chalking out icons. Furthermore, it was observed that illustrations generated more engagement on their B2C communication platforms, and the insight had to now only be harvested. And lastly, crowdsourced photographs could not be quality controlled due to the broad-scattered socio-economic and geographical distribution of event facilitators. Illustrations offered a vast untapped potential where identity of IHW specially as an aggregator of events could be meaningfully anchored.
As of now, different interactions within heritage experiences were visualised and chalked out. The groups of elements is currently being expanded. Font used is Now.
