Glasgow School usually refers to the circle of artists and designers working around Charles Rennie Mackintosh in Glasgow from the mid 1890s to about 1910. (MyLMS, 2019).

The Macdonald sisters and Herbert MacNair were the most notable in the band, and they were known as The Four together with Charles Rennie Mackintosh. They also made a distinctive and highly influential contribution to international art nouveau, also called the Spook School. (MyLms, 2019).

In the 1880s and 1890s, the Glasgow Boys brought styles of impressionism to Scotland, creating their own, frequently strongly illustrated, individual conceptions of it. They looked for scenes of rural life and character in other parts of Scotland as well as drawing in Glasgow and its surroundings. Joseph Crawhall, Sir James Guthrie, George Henry, Edward Atkinson Hornel, Sir John Lavery and Edward Arthur Walton were among the group's leading members. (MyLMS, 2019).

By the turn of the century, the faculty of the Vienna School of Applied Art had been assigned to both Moser and Hoffmann. Talwin Morris (1865-1911) became art director of the Glasgow publishing firm of Blackie's after moving to Glasgow after working in architectural offices and acting as assistant art director of black and white magazine in London, Morris established contact with the Four and welcomed their ideas. Blackie and Son provided Morris with a forum for applying the geometric spatial division and lyrical organic forms of the Glasgow group to mass communications. Morris also created series formats that could be used with subtle variations over and over again. The sheer volume of his work was a major factor in introducing new concepts and visual styles of modern architecture and design to the English public. (Phillip, 2017).

The sisters of Macdonald had strong religious beliefs and promoted supernatural and symbolistic concepts. The confluence of architectural architecture with the imagination and dream world of the sisters created an unparalleled transcendental style that was characterized as feminine in various ways, a melancholy disquiet, and a vision of the fairyland.

The image above is known as Yo Az. I would say that this type of artwork is similar to Glasgow school, because it also has geometric shapes with symmetrical balance.  YoAz is a graphic designer who depicts art with symmetrical balance and geometrical shapes.
