Art History Hide & Seek

"Art History Hide and Seek" is a mural created for the Art & Design Department at Yew Chung International Secondary School in Hong Kong.  It playfully depicts art and design icons from the 19th and 20th centuries, and seeks to engage students' curiosity in learning about some of art history's most important works. From Matisse's paper cut-outs, to Charles and Ray Eames' molded chair, Yayoi Kusama's spotted pumpkin, Philippe Starck's juicer, Van Gogh's sunflowers, Georgia O'Keefe's cow skulls, Andy Warhol's soup cans, and Keith Haring's barking dog, among others, the images may be recognizable to adults with a design background, but for unfamiliar young students, the mural's imagery serves as a point of discovery and a first glimpse into the exciting world of art.
