Unseen Westeros - Stygai
Artwork for the "Unseen Westeros" exhibition displaying unseen locations from George R. R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire".
Here you see my take on Stygai, a haunted corpse city, plagued by demons and dragons. It lies on the Ash in the Vale of Shadows. Surrounded by the mountainous Shadow Lands of eastern Essos the city only sees the sunlight for a brief period of time each day around noon.

Regarding the process this piece went from simple sketch to concept, then to 3D, back to Photoshop and finally to Nuke^.^
