The focus of my thesis is on classical ballet. The first stage will be research of the history on classical ballet, which is the essential and basic element throughout the whole project. The history will show how classical ballet has evolved and differed throughout many decades. There will also be discovery of some certain terms, such as tutu, arabesque, pointe involved in the research, because it is important to understand terms in classical ballet and to have a better appreciation. People always tend to look forward without appreciating or referencing the past. Watching classical ballet performances has been considered as a luxurious and classic event for adults or seniors who have a better taste towards their lifestyles. However, the purpose of my thesis to maintain and showcase the beauty of classical ballet, while to elaborate that classical ballet can also be modern, young and fresh to teenagers and young adults through my design approaches. As a part of my thesis, there will be a hypothetical museum to showcase different cultural dance styles around the world, and hosting performances every month to educate people with dance knowledge, and help them build a better artistic taste about performing art.
