For this personal project, I wanted to create a graceful and elegant piano. Not being a player myself, the first step was to research all aspects of the instrument in order to obtain the most realistic design possible.
I tried to get away from the square model of today's pianos, by proposing more fluid, almost aerodynamic lines.
The design is entirely in black and white, with a lacquered aluminum frame contrasting with the black body. The use of this bi-chromatic palette throughout the instrument is a reminder of the white and black keys on the keyboard.
On the sides, encircled by chrome elements, there are two speaker boxes that can be used to amplify the volume of the instrument, if necessary, in order to captivate an entire concert hall.
The piano is animated, and the opening mechanism is functional.
Every detail has been modeled: 88 keys, 230 strings, hammers and pedals. Each string is in its place and the system of damping the strings by hammers is functional.
I isolated and numbered the 88 keys, they move individually. Same for the pedals.
